Not Enough Space: From a Florida Closet to Festival Stages
Not Enough Space did what most bands dream about. They went from recording in a closet to headlining festival stages in under seven years. This Orlando metalcore band turned viral chaos into a legitimate career, and their debut album Weaponize Your Rage proves they’re here to stay.
The Early Days
Elizabeth “Lizzie” Raatma and Anthony Martinez started the band in 2018. They played open mics around Florida and dropped their first EP End This Way in February 2021. The EP featured Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens on “Loveless.” Not bad for a band recording in a closet.
The Lineup That Changed Everything
The current roster locked in during 2022-2023:
Lizzie Raatma handles clean vocals. Liv Mitchell brings the unclean screams and growls. Maurice Jones on drums. Tristan Kaos Green on guitar. Jacob Sawyer on bass.
This five-piece lineup dropped “No Way Out” in March 2023. The track hit 6.8 million streams on Spotify. They followed up with “Don’t Be Scared,” “Goth Girl Dinner,” and “Nightmares.”
The Moancore Moment
October 2024 changed everything. “Primitive” dropped under their new Thriller Records deal. The track featured a one-second moan during a breakdown. TikTok exploded. The internet lost its mind. The term “moancore” was born.
The track hit 10.4 million streams on Spotify. People argued about whether the moan was genius or gimmick. The band let the music answer. They released more tracks without the moan and proved they had substance.
Weaponize Your Rage: The Album
September 12, 2025. The debut album arrived. Eleven tracks of pure metalcore energy.
The band’s statement hits hard: “Our debut album challenges the idea expressing anger is a weakness. Instead, rage transforms into a force for personal growth and liberation.”
The title track “Weaponize Your Rage” stands out as one of the most intense songs on the record. The dual vocals between Lizzie and Liv reach peak performance here. The breakdown hits different. This track shows what the band does best.
Reviews came in strong. UV Music Magazine called it “an absolute masterpiece.” Kerrang! noted they sit “in the sweet spot between virality, parody and genuine musicianship.”
The album includes standout tracks like “Solace In Silence,” dedicated to mental health and suicide awareness. “Devil Left Me On Read,” “Eye 4 An Eye,” and “New Age Cannibal” round out the record.
The Live Show
Not Enough Space built their reputation on the road:
Spring 2024: First full US tour with Attila, Born of Osiris, Traitors, and Extortionist.
November 2025: Vans Warped Tour 30th Anniversary at Tinker Field in Orlando. Home crowd. 80,000 people. Standout performance.
January 2026: ShipRocked cruise with Motionless In White, Knocked Loose, Halestorm, and Wage War. Sold out.
May 2026: Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach alongside Guns N’ Roses, Foo Fighters, My Chemical Romance, and Bring Me The Horizon.
The Sound
They blend A Day to Remember’s hooks with Asking Alexandria’s aggression. Add in influences from Suicide Silence, The Black Dahlia Murder, Avenged Sevenfold, and Paramore. The result? Modern metalcore with a Florida edge.
Producers Chris Linck and Kala Blehm from Attila helped shape their sound. The production quality jumped after bringing them on board.
The Numbers
277,600 monthly listeners on Spotify. Over 10 million total streams. 133,000 Instagram followers. 159,700 Spotify followers.
The Florida Factor
Liv Mitchell explained their approach through the “Florida Man” meme: “Nobody in Florida gives a shit about anything. I feel like even being in this scene is a bit like Florida Man, in the sense of doing what you want, not abiding by any sort of rules and having fun whilst you’re doing it.”
This attitude shows in everything they do. No rules. No boundaries. Pure energy.
Why This Matters
Not Enough Space represents something rare. They used the internet without letting the internet use them. The moan went viral. The music backed it up. The tours got bigger. The festivals got massive.
They started in a closet and made it to Warped Tour. They went from unsigned to Thriller Records. They turned TikTok fame into a real career.
Two vocalists who shift from clean hooks to guttural screams. A relentless touring schedule. A debut album reviewers love. Festival bookings with the biggest names in rock.
Not Enough Space built something real. Watch them continue to rise in 2026.
