Showing Teeth: From TikTok Covers to Nashville Metalcore

I stumbled across Showing Teeth on TikTok a few months back. She was screaming her way through a Knocked Loose cover. The vocals hit hard. The passion was real. I followed.

What started as viral covers turned into something bigger. She went from posting Pierce the Veil and Veil of Maya covers to writing original music. She built her following the hard way. Post after post. Reel after reel. Hundreds of thousands of followers watched her progress.

Then came “Labyrinth.”

Her debut single dropped in November 2025. This was no bedroom project. She brought in Matt Halpern from Periphery on drums. Zach Munowitz handled guitar and bass. Dan Book produced the track at The Library in Studio City. Zakk Cervini mixed and mastered at Magic House Studios in Los Angeles.

The production team alone tells you she was serious about this.

Here’s the part I love. She recorded the original demo as a single take in her car. One shot. Raw emotion. No studio polish. She liked the feel so much she kept the vibe for the finished version. She calls Showing Teeth her “fully uncensored” creative outlet.

She played her first show at DRKMTTR Collective in Nashville. More tracks followed. “Rip” came next. Shows are booked for 2026. She’s moving fast.

This is what chasing your dreams looks like. You start where you are. You use what you have. You post covers until you’re ready to write originals. You build your audience one video at a time. You collaborate with people who believe in your vision.

She didn’t wait for permission. She didn’t wait for a record label. She made it happen.

Social media gets criticized for a lot of things. But stories like this remind me why platforms like TikTok matter. Someone with talent and drive can bypass traditional gatekeepers. You don’t need to know someone in the industry. You need to show up and do the work.

Your dream might look stupid to other people. Do it anyway. You want to scream into a microphone and call it art? Do it. You want to record vocals in your car? Do it. You want to go from covers to collaborating with Periphery’s drummer? Do it.

Showing Teeth is proof the path exists.

I’m rooting for her. I’m rooting for anyone who sees what they want and goes after it. The metalcore scene needs fresh voices. Female-fronted heavy music is having a moment. She’s part of that wave.

Check out “Labyrinth” if you haven’t already. Watch her TikTok. Follow the journey. Support artists who are building something from nothing.

Your turn. Whatever you’ve been putting off. Whatever idea you’ve been sitting on. Start today. Chase the dream. Make the thing. Post the video.

Do what you want.
